Dissociation seemed good at the time

A friend shared this description with me: "Dissociation seemed good at the time, BUT..."
We begin to dissociate in the womb, infancy, or early childhood (mentally separting parts of an overwhelming event from the reality of what's happening).
My friend gave a good description of what dissociation does: "Dissociation seems like a good solution because it deals with the immediate problem" [overwhelming event that's happening] "but it makes the overall problem worse. It breaks the whole into many pieces."
When dissociated parts have been created, they have to be ministered to personally because of the part of the event they are carrying for us. Praying in general for healing of an overwhelming event--while it may bring a bit of relief within the memory--will not automatically help the created soul parts.

Once dissociated, always dissociated, until the dissociated parts receive ministry from Jesus.
